ADPOT – Chai – Siberian Husky
Meet Chai – a 1 year old Siberian Husky who needed a LOT of help! Chai had a history of multiple escapes and the last one resulted in a fractured femur and broken ribs from a collision with a car. This is not an unusual outcome when a Siberian lands in a home unprepared to handle its typical breed tendencies. Many of them, Chai included, like to run and are escape artists that, within seconds, can take advantage of any open door, window, or unsecured fence. Chai ended up at ACCT in Philadelphia when we were contacted. We made sure she received the surgery and post-operative care she needed to repair her fracture. She has since made a full recovery and is ready to find her forever home.
Chai is a very sweet and gentle girl who craves attention from her humans. She gets along well with her foster siblings and is good with children. No cats or small animals as Chai has shown typical Husky prey drive when seeing small critters in her yard. Chai is timid when initially meeting new people, but she warms up quickly. As a young pup, she came to us needing to learn some manners which she has learned quickly.
As with most Huskies, when bored she will find something to do. She will need a family that is able to supervise and redirect her when necessary and is able to provide an outlet for her young Siberian energy. She is learning to pass her unattended time in a crate. Chai loves playing with her Kong toy and will fetch the occasional tennis ball. Chai is energetic and needs regular exercise. She walks well on a leash and has recently taken up dog scootering and for a small dog, she has a good pull and is very quick. Chai recently had a spa day at the groomer where she did very well and emerged even more beautiful! This sweet young girl is ready to move on to her new forever life. Will that be with you?
